The internet is like the wild, wild west, and I feel like I’m in the middle of a shoot-out. The latest bad guy is a U.K. web terrorist who has never been to AMTC. His “guns” include spiritual sarcasm and nasty cartoons. As the Owner of AMTC, I deny cyber slander. I deny lies. When we went public as a Christian company in early 2007, I was told to expect attacks. Thank you, God; they are here!
As Christians, we want to imitate Christ. When I became a committed Christian at the age of 51, I prayed in imitating Christ that I might bear His virtues: patience, kindness, humility, generosity, love, and all the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
Of course, it’s painfully obvious that Jesus bore much more than virtue. He bore a cross. He bore persecution, lies, and all of our sins in the world’s most self-sacrificing act. He made it possible for people like me to be forgiven, and even to forgive those who harm us.
The Bible says, “Count it all joy when you fall into diverse temptations.” (James 1:2) I am tempted to defend myself. I am tempted to tell anyone reading this blog everything wonderful that my mother, my company, and my staff have done over these many years. Instead, I thank God for His strength, His patience, and His blessings over AMTC. I am thankful for the excellent talent, families, success stories, and industry support He has brought us. I thank Him for His love, and I thank Him for Jesus.
AMTC will continue to be bold. I am a bold defender of truth in the talent industry. I am bold in believing that modesty, integrity, family values, and loving God can not only peacefully coexist in the entertainment industry, but can actually lead it to improvement. I am bold in asking for clean faces on teens, clean lyrics in songs, and clean words in a monologue. Am I alone? Certainly not! Are Christians in the minority? Yes, but we are the strongest minority.
Is AMTC just for Christians? Read my article entitled Actors, Models & Talent for Christ in our Reading Room.
As for cyber slander and negative blogs, it is written, “But shun vain and profane babblings: for they will increase as to more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a cankor.” (2 Timothy 2:16-17) With thanks, love, humility, and a continuing commitment to unite the best people in the Talent Industry, I follow God.

As a Christian I find this offensive and somewhat hypricritial. Those of us who believe and worship do so knowing it is not our place to beat others over the head with A Jesus stick. let our example speak to others in the most gentle of ways.
AMTC is a business which has devoted year career advancement in the area of "looks, vanity, all the while dangeling that apple of making "the big bucks" in front of numerous families.
You have the right to run a business, but do not use the Jesus card for gain when you are the one's who profit from others hopes of baking it big.

Hello S. Maines:
I published your opinion as an example of the misunderstanding of those who do not know AMTC. Your words are offensive and untrue. Jesus is not a "card" to me or my company. He is the Son of God and my Savior. Honoring God is our foremost goal. We consider AMTC a ministry. The Talent Development Industry has too much darkness. We are a light. I suggest that you take some time and read letters from Christian families who actually attended AMTC in the "Real Life Story":http://www.amtcworld.com/the-results/real-life-stories section of our website.

Well I'm a new member and will be participating in the upcoming audition...I think this is a great opportunity for a lot of us who are creative and wants to put the talent that God gave us to work...This is the one of the best auditions I'm going to participate in and will do my best to make it....

I will pray that that guy receives revelation on the situation. Mrs. Arban represents exactly what and how we should be as Christians.
I am a new comer to AMTC but not a new comer to our Lord and Savior, My family and I will stand behind Mrs. Arban and will be praying. Her company and associates don't deserve anyone to attack them because they are children of the Most High God, this man will receive his dues from the Lord if he chooses to continue to attack. I pray the Lord has mercy on him and continues to bless Mrs. Arban, AMTC as they bring God into the world when the world doesn't want God. Love all of ya'll.

I was recently at Gaylord Palms hotel with my daughters incidentally, during the AMTC event. I searched the website once I returned home curious about the company after speaking with some people who were attending the conference. I was impressed by the fact that it is a christian lead company and applaud your efforts to acknowledge your faith. I only wish more companies had the strength and the courage to admit their faith.

First of all let me say I just heard your commercial on Q100/Atlanta today and I was BLOWN AWAY. Long story short I'm an actress and a songbird and I have been in the industry for years and have never heard of a Christian talent agency. Praise the Lord. This truly is a new season and a new day!
At first I was thinking, "Okay, lots of people use the Christian label and have no clue what it really means." after reading this article I am CONVINCED. Praise God for you sister. And remember His word also says, "Count it all joy when you suffer persecution for My Namesake!" So sister, count it all joy. You are definitely doing SOMETHING right!
Much love,
Cassandra

I have just returned from participating in the AMTC Summer 2008 convention in Orlando, FL. I have to say the entire convention and every part of how it is run is set before our Great and High King. It is evident that the entire Lewis/Arban family (even extended members) are truly seeking God first. Their continued work in this matter is evident and it radiates about them continually. Even with tragedy happening within their own family, they didn't miss a beat during the entire convention, and did not seek out ANY publicity with it. I was actually shocked that prayer wasn't requested, but then I realized - if they did then the convention would have a different feel and would take a different turn. Those competing would lose focus and it could cause many to lose focus. They sacrificed their family and life for those 2 weeks (pre, during & post convention) in order to teach us and for the betterment of us - the attendees and our families.
My hats off to you a trillion times - The Lewis/Arban family.
Thank you for sacrificing and enduring and truly being that light and salt that God calls us to be continually.
God bless you!!

Carey, you have been on my heart ever since Keith and I came to the Springfield, Il AMTC. The visit that day has changed Keith, and brought new vision and hope to his life. He is so focused about what God is going to do. He really believes that you and your family are there at the right season in his life. I have been praying for you, because I have been feeling in my heart the burdens that are trying to be put on you. But, I also feel this great exhiliration in my spirit because our God is a BIG GOD. It is so wonderful that God has made us brothers and sisters in Him. I felt such a welcoming to your heart in the hotel. I can tell you it was not what I expected! God, is always surprising me, and He makes me laugh at my own self! What a joy to know that someone really cares about our gifted men and women of God. These gifts are for His glory and to His praise! Thanks again. I know we will see each other again, and I am praying for you and your family. Sharon Abner

I am Catholic and think it is great AMTC is a Christian event now. Is this a new thing because I went to AMTC in the summer of 2006, and don't remember all these things? It would have got me closer to God, and think this will help people. I would like to thank you from a 14 years old's heart.

I have searched the web for years looking for a GOD-centered company to work with. I am an actress and Direct a theatre school in Maryland. When I made contact with Jen and Adam I realized I was dealing with REAL FAITH BASED BELIEVERS. Thank God for Mrs. Arban and the entire crew at AMTC.
I will be sure to have each of my students read these blogs so that they can see the type of company they will audition for in August.
This world is in for a Spiritual awakening with AMTC. Thank you for your boldness, committment to Christ, and continued strength.
You are a STAR COMPANY.

I came to your site by googling "Sharon McCarthy". Being a business owner myself for 20 years, I too have had staff up and start their own business. I was impressed at how you handled your comments towards ITC. (class act)
Equally impressive, is your unwavering faith in God. It takes courage to put God "out-there", especially in your industry. It says (and I believe), that "all things are possible through God". You represent the hopes and dreams of countless individuals. May your faith in God, bless others who may not have that closeness and bring them in turn closer to His word.
God Bless,
Doug

What was the attack you speak of? To be fair it is only right to see both sides of every story. I cannot see a link?
Also, showbusiness is a nasty place to be, I had an audition a month ago for something and every time I phone to find out the people I need to speak to are "at a meeting" "on the other line" "not available right now". I'm hanging like a worm on a line. I think the extremity of trying to be SO good in fact highlights how deeply unscrupulous the entertainment industry can be.
Some of the best drama ever written uses swear words, and explores themes that may be deemed by some as "shocking". In fact, they are reflecting life through a character's journey, in hope that we may take away something or nothing from it. I may not have read the 'attack' on AMTC, but to see a so called 'christian' brand this unknown assailant with as inflammatory a term as a 'terrorist'(consider the political climate!) has me feeling uneasy with this response, rather with any 'attack' that may have started it.
In the interest of free speech, I wonder whether my post, in looking for balance, will be left, or deleted.

hello,
MY name is Krystian and I attened the 2008 summer AMTC. Because of AMTC, I will be going to new york on the 21st of July. It is a great expeirience and a safe environment. It lets people from all over discover their talent and be seen and heard. It was the best expeirience ever....one that you won't forget. To be a modest model or actress/actor or a singer singing clean words...that's nothing to be ashamed of. People will respect you for that....that's what the agents here want to see. For kids, a cute clean kid couldn't be better. And for adults, no makeup needed. I had gone to another convention that was nothing like this and it was fake. But AMTC, they are not. The staff will make sure you have a wonderful time there and believe me, you will. Don't put AMTC down, go to it because there is no way you will be able to shoot them down after you go and see what it's like.

Hello Elly:
The U.K. attack website was taken down. thank God. Being a Christian gives us a different perspective about swearing. However, we are directed not to judge others, but to love them. We live in countries that allow us freedom of speech and freedom of choice, including what type of shows we like. I thank God for those liberties as well.
I do not agree that show business is a nasty place to be. It surely can be. I believe it depends on the individuals and companies with whom we work. The righteous pursuit of the talent industry can be a wonderful experience. What makes a pursuit "righteous" are the goals of the individual, as well as the associating with the right people.
I hope for you the best success.

2 those who question: AMTC was & is what it promises 2B a clean safe environment. I had the awesome xperience of testifying 2 this event, where besides the rush & adrenaline U live by when U perform, U get 2B surrounded by people who mainly share an equal conviction, where the Lord is glorified, sanctified, & bringing others closer to Him as opportunities arise, whether it's sharing faith in qeue 2 your performance, or sitting out at a bench, praying and seeking Christ.
Those who come to AMTC, Christians or not, do not come by coincidence, " For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to bring you hope and a future."jer29:11
The world needs Christ, many just don't know it. As a soldier of Christ, it is important to gather up with an army, to go out and fight the good fight. The world thirsts for Christ, and the media is the strongest way to reveal the message. AMTC is like a source of kneading the complete team to get the WORD out, putting producers and performers together... that is what really happens.
My xperience was WOW. I'm bringing my kids in a near future!
I'm grateful, prayer & devotion were a main ingredient!
